On Monday, April 14th, 2025, our friends at Barstool reached out with a special request—Big Cat was on the hunt for some 1986 Fleer basketball packs. If you’re not familiar, this iconic set features one of the most sought-after rookie cards of all time: Michael Jordan’s. It’s also packed with other legendary rookie cards from Hall of Famers like Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Patrick Ewing, and Karl Malone, just to name a few.
So on Tuesday, we made our way to the best spot for authentic, graded wax—Baseball Card Exchange (BBCE) in Schererville, Indiana. There, we picked up two graded and authenticated packs of 1986 Fleer basketball, which Big Cat bought with his own money. From there, we headed straight to Barstool HQ in Chicago.
Our founder and CEO, Brian Ludden, joined Big Cat and the rest of the Barstool crew for the 1000th episode of The Yak. Unfortunately, Big Cat wouldn’t pull the Jordan rookie on that stream.

After the initial rip, Big Cat told us to track down even more packs. So, on Wednesday, we made another trip to Baseball Card Exchange and picked up two more graded 1986 Fleer packs. We brought them back to Barstool HQ just in time for The Yak, giving Big Cat another shot at pulling the card.
This time, luck was on his side—right out of the first pack, Big Cat pulled the iconic Michael Jordan rookie card. Now, he’s looking to get it graded, so we’re sending it off to PSA for authentication and grading.

Huge shoutout to Barstool and the team for having us on The Yak, and another to Baseball Card Exchange for helping us track down the packs. Stay tuned—we’ll be sharing the PSA grades for the Jordan rookie and the rest of the cards soon.
