1. 2019 Pokémon Japanese Old Maid Spare Card AUTO DNA 10 PSA AUTH

unnamed 41

As one of the original designers of the game, Kouichi Ooyama helped bring the Pokémon TCG to life. It’s his Chansey prototype art that serves as the first card in the famous Creatures Corporate History half deck that’s become one of the most talked-about products in the collecting community.

A Pokémon Old Maid game featuring Ooyama’s art was released in 2019. The game came with a blank spare card. This copy of the blank spare card has been drawn on and signed by Oooyama.

2. 2016 Panini Flawless Sole of the Game Ruby Lionel Messi Patch Auto /15 PSA 7

Unnamed (40)

3. 2012 SP Authentic Limited Parade of Stars Michael Jordan AUTO /25 #61 BGS 9.5

Unnamed (39)

His Airness not on the court, but on the course. One for the MJ completists, this card from the 2012 SP Authentic Golf release was part of a subset of celebrities and athletes who liked to play the sport. Jordan and 13 others have autographed versions of their cards, limited to either /25 or /10.

4. 2022 Panini Contenders Variation Gold Vinyl Chet Holmgren RC Auto 1/1 #137 BGS 9

5. 2020 Topps Chrome Formula 1 F1 Sealed Hobby Box

unnamed 37

Topps changed the game when it became the official trading card licensee for Formula 1. This was the first flagship product the company produced – following its high-end 2020 Topps Dynasty release – and holds generally accepted rookies of many of the sport’s most popular drivers.

6. 1921 W551 Strip Card Babe Ruth PSA 2

Unnamed (35)

Many of Ruth’s earliest issues are of the hand-cut or hand-pulled strip card variety, including this one. This issue was located on the left side of its 10-card strip – thus the left-hand side of the card didn’t need to be cut.

7. 2001 Pokémon Japanese Promo Corocoro Comics Holo Shining Mew #151 PSA 10

Unnamed (36)

One of the many vaunted Corocoro Comics promos that have carved out a special place in the history of the Pokémon TCG, this Mew was available in the May 2001 issue of the magazine. Of the 7,147 copies to hit the PSA grading floor, just 426 have earned a PSA 10 grade – about 6%.

8. 2018 National Treasures Synced Patrick Mahomes II Joe Montana Auto /10 BGS 9.5

unnamed 33

While dual autos are sometimes not as desirable as their single-auto counterparts, it’s hard to argue against a card that holds the signatures of two of the greatest QBs of all time.

9. 1960 Topps Hockey Stan Mikita Rookie #14 PSA 8

Unnamed (34)

Just six of the 412 copies of this ‘60s superstar’s rookie that have been assessed by PSA have earned a higher grade.

10. 1960 Hemmets Journal Cassisu Cly Muhammad Ali Rookie #23 BGS 6 (PWCC-E)

Unnamed (32)

Finding a copy of Ali’s rookie – and only card from 1960 – is tough enough for collectors. But this one comes with PWCC-E Eye Appeal designation, putting it in the top 15% of copies with the same BGS 6 grade reviewed by PWCC.
