On May 30, 2025, new cards came into the Pokémon TCG universe with the release of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet – Destined Rivals.

This was one of the most anticipated drops of the year for Pokémon fans, and it didn’t disappoint. The brand new set features 244 total cards, complete with different Pokémon, trainers, supporters, stadiums, items and tools. Several of these cards have full-art style illustrations, where the Pokémon drawings fully cover the face of the card, something that stands out to many collectors and fans.

A lot of cards in this set highlight the relationships between certain trainers and their Pokémon. Many of those cards feature Team-Rocket-themed designs, illustrated with dynamic artwork that reflects the mischievous nature of the villainous group. Nidoking is the star of the show here, which is made pretty clear by the card’s full-art illustration. The spiky, purple Pokémon looks like it’s ready to do some damage as it crashes down onto the arena floor.

According to the Ludex app, it’s worth an estimated $93, making it a very solid chase card to look out for when you’re ripping or browsing the set.

On this card, Ho-Oh is soaring majestically through the air with Ethan watching confidently from down below. The card is complete with the Golden Flame ability and the Shining Feathers attack.

This card is worth an estimated $196.62 according to the Ludex app, good enough to make it the second most valuable card from Destined Rivals.

Right off the bat, this card’s full-art artwork catches your attention. Mewtwo has a dark and evil look, perfectly showcasing the vibe of Team Rocket. The card is a psychic type and, like the rest of the cards on this list, its rarity is Special Illustration Rare.

Per the Ludex app, this Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex #231 card is worth an estimated $364.33, making it by far and away the most valuable card from Pokémon’s most recent set.
