The second installment of the 2025 Topps Flagship set releases on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. If you didn’t know, Topps rolls out its flagship baseball card set in three parts each year.

It starts with Topps Series 1, which typically releases during MLB Spring Training. Then comes Topps Series 2, released midway through the season to include updated cards for players who were called up, traded, or now qualify for rookie cards. Finally, Topps Update wraps up the trilogy near the end of the MLB season.

Now that you know why Topps Series 2 is important, let’s dive right in to what cards to look for in this set!

Roki Sasaki’s First Flagship Rookie Card

Arguably the most talented and exciting pitching prospect outside of Paul Skenes is finally getting his first flagship rookie card in the 2025 Topps Series 2 set. Roki Sasaki has been generating buzz for years, and for good reason. He hit 102.5 mph on the radar gun during a warm-up game for the 2023 World Baseball Classic—matching the fastest pitch ever recorded in NPB history, a mark previously set by Shohei Ohtani.

So whether it’s his base card, or one of his autographed cards, make sure to topload any Roki Sasaki cards you pull. We’re sure there’s a Los Angeles Dodgers fan out there that will buy it from you.

Awesome Insert Sets to Look Out for

Every release of Topps Flagship brings a fresh batch of cool and rare inserts to look out for. While we’re not covering every single insert you might find in a box, here are a few of our favorites from this year’s set.

One of the best-looking short print inserts in Topps Flagship has to be the Home Field Advantage cards. These fall 1 in every 241 hobby packs and capture the culture of each player’s home city in a bold, eye-catching design.

A brand-new insert debuting in 2025 Topps Series 2 is K Zone—a pitcher-focused, die-cut. It falls just 1 in every 2,032 packs, making it a rare pull. As the hobby continues to show more appreciation for pitchers, it’s great to see Topps leaning into exclusive inserts designed specifically for them.

First Pitch is returning in 2025 Topps Series 2, but let’s be honest—the standout cards here are Rickey Henderson’s and The Miz’s. Jenn Tran, Mark Long, and Joey Graziadei also appear in the checklist, but we’re not huge reality TV fans. That said, we’re always glad to see First Pitch cards included in the set, and Rickey’s card is definitely the one to highlight.

The last insert we’re covering is the brand-new All Kings insert. You might recognize the design, as it’s a different take on the popular All Aces insert. But instead of highlighting the game’s top pitchers, All Kings shifts the spotlight to baseball’s most dominant sluggers. This set features a mix of legendary hitters and current stars. All Kings cards are hobby-exclusive and fall just 1 in every 798 hobby packs, making them one of the rarer inserts in the product. Keep an eye out for gold parallels as well—they’ll be even tougher to pull.

The Best Autographed Cards to Look for

Topps Flagship has built a strong reputation for featuring autographs from some of the biggest names in baseball, and the 2025 set is no exception.

First up is an autograph set celebrating the Los Angeles Dodgers’ World Series championship from last season. The card designs are sharp and will definitely be a must-have for Dodgers collectors.

Topps is once again celebrating the 35th anniversary of the 1990 Topps design, bringing back some fantastic-looking retro cards. The 1990 Topps Baseball autograph set blends past and present by featuring modern stars on classic vintage card designs.

Black Parallels Return to Topps Flagship

One of the hobby’s favorite parallels was noticeably absent from 2025 Topps Series 1 for no clear reason—but it’s back in Series 2. The black parallel, numbered to /74 this year, has long been a collector favorite thanks to its sleek design and the story behind it. The numbering changes annually, based on how many years have passed since the iconic 1952 Topps set. This makes each black parallel a subtle tribute to one of the most legendary releases in baseball card history.
