With the opening weekend for the WNBA coming to a close and a full season ahead of us, all of the game’s big stars are back on the court for the summer. The biggest star, perhaps in the history of the league, Caitlin Clark made headlines this weekend for her monster performance on Saturday afternoon.

Clark stuffed the stat sheet in the Indiana Fever’s home opener, propelling them to a big win over the Chicago Sky, 93-58, to start off the season. She dropped a game-high 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 10 assists, good for the third triple-double of her young career, making her the quickest player in WNBA history to reach that mark. On top of that, she also tacked on two steals and a staggering four blocks.

During the offseason, Clark had her signature No. 22 jersey retired by her alma mater, the University of Iowa. Her current team made some moves to build up the roster, most notably being the signing of DeWanna Bonner. A six-time All-Star and seasoned veteran, Bonner is set to give some leadership to the young Fever core. In the team’s first game, she made headlines by becoming the WNBA’s third-all-time leading scorer.

Clark, the No. 1 overall pick from a year ago, is coming off of an impressive season headlined by a Rookie of the Year award and an All-WNBA First-Team selection season. With her season already off to a hot start, she is poised to make an even bigger jump this year.

Coming in at No. 5 in the list, this card sold for $97,600. Despite being the lowest number of the bunch, it still nearly surpassed six-figures. It stands out for its sleek and modern Black Finite design and Clark’s crisp autograph. It ended up getting graded as a PSA Nine and receiving a 10 for the autograph, so it’s safe to say that its near-perfect condition helped the value. The sale happened in late December on Goldin, which you can find here.

#4: 2024 Panini Select WNBA Gold Vinyl Prizm 1/1 – $105,326

The only non-autograph on this list, this one-of-one card sold in late February and became the first of Clark’s cards to sell for over $100,000. This card is the first with a Gold Vinyl background and received a score of PSA 10, two things that are going to become a common theme with the rest of this list. The sale took place on Goldin, which you can see right here.

#3: 2024 Panini Select WNBA Signatures Gold Vinyl Autograph 1/1 – $234,850

A similar iteration to the first card on the list, but this one has the Gold Vinyl background, shooting its value up to $234,850. It was graded as a perfect ten for its PSA as well as the autograph score, making it a pristine addition to anyone’s collection. On the back of the card, it has the coveted serial number of “1/1.” The grading and rarity contributed to that high value. The sale was finalized in early December, right here on Goldin.

#2: 2024 Panini Prizm WNBA Throwback Signatures Gold Vinyl Autograph 1/1 – $244,000

The most recent sale of the bunch, this card sold for $244,000 just a couple of weeks ago on April 26th, perhaps an indication that the market for Clark’s cards is only going to keep going up as her career goes on. Another one-of-one autograph card with a Gold Vinyl background, its picture features a midgame shot of Clark bringing the ball up the floor. As can be seen here, this one was sold on Goldin

#1: 2024 Panini Prizm WNBA Signatures Gold Vinyl Autograph 1/1 – $366,000

The biggest sale out of all of Clark’s cards was a record-breaking one. This autographed one-of-one gold Prizm card went for $366,000, making it the most expensive women’s sports card ever sold. Clark’s autograph and the Gold Vinyl design helped push this card past the previous record-holder, a 2003 NetPro Serena Williams RPA card that sold for $266,400. The red Fever jersey pops off of the card, with Clark hitting the peak of her patented jumper. Its sale happened on Goldin as well, and it can be found here

Clark’s Cards Moving Forward

With Clark’s name consistently trending, it makes sense why her cards have seen such big-time sales so far. As the young star has been bringing more attention to the WNBA, she’s changing the landscape for women’s sports as a whole. If she can continue to put up huge statlines and break records, Caitlin Clark is also going to shake things up in the card-collecting industry as well.
