The time has come yet again for another Bowman Draft release, filled with hype and optimism surrounding all the new prospects. With a loaded class of newly acquired draft picks, the ceiling is sky-high both in terms of literal success and cardboard success. Now I must say before getting into it, this list is based on a combination of card value and actual talent based on my opinion. I am no baseball beat writer, but I put my Theo Epstein hat on and I am feeling confident. Wait till you see what 18th-rounder made the list!

Paul Skenes
3b) To start it off, I am going to dedicate this spot to the first overall pick of the 2023 MLB Draft. Fresh off of a National Championship at LSU, Paul Skenes has been labeled as a generational pitcher. He averages a 98 mph fastball that shows flashes of 102 mph and can execute offspeed pitches. Did I mention he’s 6-foot-6? Skenes is set to make his sports card debut in Bowman Draft, thus making these cards an absolute chase. Given his talent and the fact that he will rise quickly to the big leagues, a Paul Skenes autograph card will be worth a pretty penny. If you are not familiar with baseball card collecting, pitchers are valued less than position players, that is a good reason why Skenes is number “3b” on this list.
Bryce Eldridge
3a) Now this is outside of the rules, but I have to call for an official 3rd place tie. Bryce Eldridge is just too talented to leave off of this list. As an 18-YEAR-OLD pitcher and hitter standing at 6-foot-7, this kid can flat-out play. While many scouts have pointed out his flaws due to his immature experience, that bodes well for his card market. On the flip side, some are calling him the “Next Ohtani” which can make for his 1st Bowman card to be quite the chase. Regardless, Bryce Eldridge has flashed his talents on both sides of the ball, and baseball fans should be very excited for what’s to come.
Max Clark
2) Max Clark, now this is a name to remember. Detroit selected him out of Franklin Community High School in Indiana with the 3rd overall pick. He won the National Gatorade Player of the Year in 2023. Clark has been labeled as a 5-tool player (hitting, hitting for power, throwing, fielding, running) which is a rare description for a newly drafted prospect. As an outfielder, his speed and arm strength are a plus, while his talent at the plate has been exemplified in many environments. Max Clark’s cards have already been hyped up for months, making him one of the focuses in the 2023 Bowman Draft. His autograph cards will be a grail, no doubt, but will his talent take him to the top? We shall see.
Wyatt Langford
1) Coming in at number 1 is Wyatt Langford. Langford is a vetted power hitter who led the University of Florida to the College Baseball World Series last year. His swing mechanics make him the best hitter in this year’s draft class, averaging .356 and hitting 26 home runs last season. Langford has 5-tool potential, especially with the foundation of his talent at the plate. He ended up falling to the 4th pick by the Texas Rangers. Given that his talent has been put on display for 4 years at the collegiate level, he can be considered as the least risky when it comes to investing in his cards.
Tom Brady
Now, for the main event. Tom Brady will be included in the 2023 Bowman Draft. He will have a standard insert and autograph with him in a Montreal Expos uniform, as they had selected him in the 18th round of the 1995 draft. He had gone on to attend the University of Michigan and win 7 Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the baseball card is what we care about. High-end collectors have already put out a $500k bounty for some of these Brady cards . Regardless of all these new prospects and their potential talent, there’s one guaranteed secure chase, and his name is Tom Brady.
