2026 Topps Chrome Baseball Base Set
The 300-card base set gives flagship Series 1 and Series 2 cards the chrome treatment. Base cards feature the same images as the traditional Topps flagship cards, minus the 75th anniversary logo. Rookie base cards are a highlight, including players from both Series One and Series Two sets.
Rookie Autographs
Topps Chrome Baseball is most known for the on Card Rookie Autographs, and this year there are a lot to chase. On-card signatures for the top 2026 MLB rookies on the base Chrome design, with a full parallel rainbow including Superfractors 1/1. Trey Yesavage and Jacob Misiorowski are two of the most exciting rookie arm autos in the set.
Other notable rookies include:
Sal Stewart (Cincinnati Reds), Roman Anthony (Boston Red Sox), Noah Schultz (Chicago White Sox),
Nolan McLean (New York Mets) Munetaka Murakami (Chicago White Sox), Kyle Teel (Chicago White Sox),
Konnor Griffin (Pittsburgh Pirates), Kevin McGonigle (Detroit Tigers), Jacob Misiorowski (Milwaukee Brewers),
JJ Wetherholt (St. Louis Cardinals), Colson Montgomery (Chicago White Sox), Chase Burns (Cincinnati Reds)
Refractor Parallels
Chrome’s parallel rainbow is as deep as ever in 2026. Dozens of refractor types cover the base set, with numbered parallels including Green /99, Gold /50, Orange /25, Black /10, Red /5, and the coveted Superfractor 1/1. Box-exclusive refractors add additional chase options depending on whether you’re opening hobby, jumbo, mega, or value packs.
Image Variations and SSPs
Image Variations are short-printed cards that give collectors an alternate photo of select players. A handful of stars also have SSP (Super Short Print) versions that are significantly tougher to find, with Superfractors numbered 1/1. Confirmed SSPs include Bobby Witt Jr., Pete Crow-Armstrong (shown here tossing a football in a hoodie during warmups), and Munetaka Murakami.
Current Stars and Legend Autographs
Six of the best current stars and dozens of Legends also get hard-signed on-card autographs on the base Chrome design, the same approach, the same rainbow. Paul Skenes is among those six current stars, putting his on-card sig in the same tier as all-time greats like Derek Jeter.
1991 Topps Design Inserts
The 1991 Topps design returns as a 35th anniversary tribute insert set. Not all of these are autographed, Aaron Judge and Munetaka Murakami both appear as standard 1991 Topps design inserts with no signature, with parallels all the way up to Superfractors numbered 1/1, making them among the toughest non-auto pulls in the product.
1991 Topps Design Autographs
Collectors can also find signed versions of the 1991 Topps design inserts. Cards like this Jac Caglianone have 1991 Topps Autograph versions, all the parallels up to the Superfractor numbered 1/1.
Topps Chrome Minions
One of the most talked-about additions to 2026 Topps Chrome is the Chrome Minions insert set. These short-printed inserts re-imagine MLB stars as characters from the Minions film franchise, with each player rendered in full Minion character form wearing their team uniform. Expect strong demand for the big names, Judge, Soto, and Skenes are all confirmed in the set.
2026 Topps Chrome Baseball Inserts
Inserts have been central to Topps Chrome since 1996, and 2026 keeps that tradition going strong. New additions include Diamond Moments and Static Noise, while returning concepts include Helix, Ultraviolet, and World Series at Night. Fanatical, a fan-favorite retail SSP from the flagship set, also makes the jump to Chrome. Chrome Rivals introduces dueling 25-card sets matching home and away uniform versions of rivalry players, with matching serial numbers to pair them up.
Retro Inserts: Past to Present and 1991 Topps Design
Retro design inserts continue in 2026. Past to Present, originally from 2001, gets a modern shadowbox-style redesign pairing franchise legends with current stars, Mookie Betts paired with Jackie Robinson being one of the most striking examples. The 1991 Topps design also returns as a 35th anniversary tribute set, appearing both as base inserts and as the design for select autographs.
Wrecking Crew
The original Wrecking Crew insert debuted in the very first Topps Chrome release in 1996. Thirty years later, Topps has brought it back with an enhanced design highlighting baseball’s top power threats. If you were around for the original, this is a genuine nostalgia hit.
Champion Autographs and World Series Champion Autographs
Champion Autographs are reserved for players who’ve hoisted the Commissioner’s Trophy. World Series Champion Autographs again spotlight members of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who in 2025 became the first back-to-back champions since the 1999-2000 Yankees. These are among the most desirable signed cards in the set for Dodgers collectors and World Series completionists alike.
Cooperstown Calls
The multi-year rainbow chase introduced in 2025 continues here. In 2026 packs, collectors will find Blue Refractors /150 of new Hall of Fame inductees Jeff Kent, Andruw Jones, and Carlos Beltran, plus Green Refractors /99 of the 2025 class (Ichiro, Sabathia, Wagner, Allen, and Parker). Autographed versions of the 2026 inductees are also in the set. The rainbow for each class will continue to be released annually through 2031.
Future Stars Autographs
Future Stars Autographs return for 2026 with another colorful, eye-catching design. An annual staple since 2018, these chromium-signed cards highlight the next wave of MLB talent and consistently rank among the most popular autographs in the product.
