2026 Topps Tier One Baseball drops June 24, marking 15 years since the brand first hit shelves in 2011. The formula is the same one that made it a staple: on-card autographs, premium memorabilia, and ornate designs wrapped in a tight four-card box. Each hobby box delivers two autographs and one relic.
2026 Topps Tier One Baseball Box Configuration
Hobby boxes contain 4 cards per pack, 1 pack per box. Cases hold 12 boxes. Every box guarantees 2 autographs and 1 relic. Presale pricing from Topps was $349.99 per hobby box.
Base Set Overview
The base set runs 100 cards split across three tiers, each with its own design treatment. Tier 1 covers Legends (20 cards), numbered to /99. Tier 2 covers Veterans (50 cards), also numbered to /99. Tier 3 covers Rookies (30 cards), the next wave of MLB talent making their Tier One debut. Base parallels include Holo Gold, Silver, and additional numbered tiers across all three levels.
Base Tier Autographs
Every tier in the base set has its own autograph parallel. Base Tier 1 Autographs cover Legends, Tier 2 covers Veterans, and Tier 3 covers Rookies. These are on-card signatures paired directly with the base card design. The Legends tier pulls names like Sandy Koufax, giving the set serious historical weight alongside the current stars.
Retro 2011 Tier One Autographs
For the 15th anniversary, Topps brings back the original 2011 Tier One design for the Retro 2011 Autographs insert. These carry the debut base design with on-card signatures added, bridging the brand’s first year with its current run. Derek Jeter appears in the checklist numbered to just 4/5, making these among the toughest pulls in the product.
Clearly Perfect Autographs
Clearly Perfect Autographs use an acetate-style card design built around a full-bleed player photo with an ornate gold border. Drake Baldwin of the Atlanta Braves appears numbered to 74/75, with parallels running down from there. The acetate look gives these a different texture than the standard base autos and pairs well with Tier One’s premium feel.
Dual Autographs
Dual Autographs pair two players on a single card with both on-card signatures present. The Orioles connection makes for one of the more interesting pairings in the set: Cal Ripken Jr. and Gunnar Henderson, numbered to 02/25. This kind of cross-era combo is a big part of what keeps Tier One interesting for collectors who want more than single-player autos. According to Beckett, pairings like this are among the key chase cards in the product.
Autographed Prodigious Patches
Autographed Prodigious Patches combine oversized game-used jersey swatches with on-card autographs. Jac Caglianone of the Kansas City Royals appears numbered to 04/10, with a large multi-color patch taking up most of the lower half of the card. The Prodigious Patches checklist leans toward rookie and up-and-coming talent, making these one of the more interesting relic-auto hybrids in the set.
Autographed Limited Lumber
The Autographed Limited Lumber cards are the headliners for memorabilia collectors. Each one is a 1/1 with an embedded game-used bat piece signed by the player. The Aaron Judge example shows exactly what these look like: a large bat barrel piece embedded in the lower portion of the card, signed by Judge and bat maker Chandler. These are case hits and the rarest memorabilia cards in the product.
Other Notable Autograph Sets
Beyond the sets above, the 2026 Tier One checklist includes Tier One Shots Autographs (/149 with parallels down to Holo Platinum Blue 1/1) and Tier One Talent Autographs for additional rookie and prospect coverage. The Shots checklist features names like Fernando Tatis Jr., José Ramírez, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Wyatt Langford. Roman Anthony and Samuel Basallo appear in the Retro Class Autographs subset, connecting present-day prospects back to the anniversary theme.
