The most anticipated product release of the year for any baseball card collector is finally here. 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball officially releases on July 25, 2025, and in this blog, we’re breaking down everything you should know before opening packs. We’ll cover the top rookies, case hits, inserts, and autographs to look out for in this year’s release.
If you followed our coverage of the 2025 Topps Series 2 Flagship set, you’ll notice some familiar names and key carryovers — but Chrome always brings its own shine.
Let’s dive in.
The Best Rookies in 2025 Topps Chrome
As always, the main draw of any product you’re ripping is the rookies — and 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball is loaded with them. Leading the chase are Roki Sasaki (Los Angeles Dodgers), Dylan Crews (Washington Nationals), James Wood (Washington Nationals), Luisangel Acuña (New York Mets), and Jacob Wilson (Oakland Athletics). Sasaki made his highly anticipated MLB rookie card debut earlier this year in 2025 Bowman Baseball, and the excitement has only grown heading into Chrome.
While these names are currently considered the top rookies by most in the hobby, there are plenty of others worth sleeving and top-loading if you pull them. Keep an eye out for Kristian Campbell (Boston Red Sox), Coby Mayo (Baltimore Orioles), Nick Kurtz (Oakland Athletics), Hyeseong Kim (Los Angeles Dodgers), Matt Shaw (Chicago Cubs), and Cam Smith (Houston Astros).

Awesome Insert Sets to Look Out For
This year’s edition of Topps Chrome Baseball is packed with exciting and rare inserts, so let’s highlight a few of the standouts. One of the most eye-catching is the Power Players insert. With its vibrant, retro-inspired design, it’s a favorite among collectors — and it also comes in a variety of parallel versions, too.

The fan-favorite Homefield Advantage cards are returning to Topps Chrome Baseball in 2025, following their debut in the 2024 edition. This year, they’re back with a twist — parallel versions have been added, making the chase even more exciting.

One of the rarest inserts in Topps Chrome Baseball this year is Exposé, a super short print that falls just once in every 18,766 packs.

Topps is also introducing a new insert set celebrating the 2024 MLB award winners. These rare cards highlight each player’s achievements from last season, with every card limited to just 24 copies.

The Best Autographed Cards to Look For
One of the biggest chases in 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball is the Shohei Ohtani 1/1 Gold Logoman Autograph. If you didn’t know, the 2024 World Series champions were given gold logoman patches on their jerseys to commemorate the win — and this card features one of those authentic patches, making it an insane chase for collectors.

As always with Topps Chrome Baseball, be on the lookout for legendary autographs, including cards like this Albert Pujols Superfractor Autograph.

Ultra Violet Autographs is a brand-new autograph set debuting in 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball. This fresh addition brings a unique design and vibrant colors to chrome.

One rookie autograph set to keep an eye on is All-Etch Rookie Rush Autographs. With its vibrant design and strong checklist, this set is sure to become a favorite in many collectors’ collections.

The Coolest Parallel to Look Out For
As always, be on the lookout for short-printed parallels like Superfractor, Red Refractor, and Gold Refractor. But this year, one special parallel truly stands out — the Takashi Murakami variation. Limited to just three copies, this ultra-rare card features the iconic floral artwork of world-renowned contemporary artist Takashi Murakami.
Murakami is no stranger to high-profile collaborations, having previously worked with brands like Louis Vuitton, Nike, and even on exclusive Pokémon cards. His distinct art style brings a bold and colorful twist to the traditional Topps Chrome design, making this variation not only a rare parallel — but also a potential crossover collectible for both art enthusiasts and card collectors alike.
