2025 Topps Chrome Platinum Baseball is here, and it’s built around the classic 1955 Topps design. Released June 5, 2026, this set skips the current season entirely and leans into nostalgia, wrapping Chrome refractors in one of the hobby’s most beloved vintage templates. Every Hobby box includes one hard-signed autograph, making it a go-to for collectors who want guaranteed ink with their chrome. If you’re also tracking new releases this year, check out our breakdown of the best cards in 2026 Topps Series 2 Baseball.

Background

Topps Chrome Platinum is an annual anniversary product that pairs chromium technology with a throwback Topps flagship design. After skipping 2024, the series picks back up with the 1955 design, following 2023’s tribute to the 1954 set. The 1955 Topps set is particularly meaningful in hobby history: it’s the design from the year the Brooklyn Dodgers won their only World Series championship, beating the Yankees in seven games. Topps leans into that throughout this product with dedicated insert sets commemorating the series.

Presales opened May 5, 2026, with Hobby boxes initially priced at $139.99. By release day that jumped to $149.99 per box. That’s a step up from the 2023 edition, which was $119.99 for 24 packs. The 2025 boxes run 20 packs at 4 cards each, and cases are 12 boxes. Value Blaster boxes are also available at 8 packs per box.

Box Configurations and Prices

Hobby Box: 4 cards per pack, 20 packs per box, 12 boxes per case. Priced around $149.99 at release. Every box includes 1 autograph and 4 inserts. Case hits include 1 Cards That Never Were insert and 4 City Variation inserts.

Other rookies to know: Dylan Crews (Nationals), Luisangel Acuña (Mets), Coby Mayo (Orioles), Jackson Jobe (Tigers), Dalton Rushing (Dodgers), Marcelo Mayer (Red Sox), Jacob Wilson (Athletics), and Matt Shaw (Cubs). Base Set and Parallels

The base set checks in at 500 cards, spanning current stars, veterans, rookies, and retired legends. The design mirrors the horizontal layout of the original 1955 Topps set, with a large portrait on the right and an action shot on the left, all wrapped in Chrome’s signature refractor finish.

Inserts and Short Prints

All of the insert sets are rooted in 1955 Topps history and the World Series that year. The Brooklyn Dodgers finally broke through, beating the Yankees in seven games for their only championship in Brooklyn. That story runs through every insert set in this product.

1955 World Series: Cards celebrating the Dodgers’ championship. Jackie Robinson is one of the featured players, shown in a colorized chromium rendering of a classic game photo.

1955 Cards That Never Were: A Hobby-only insert (1 per box) spotlighting players who were left out of the original 1955 Topps set. These are designed to look like they belong alongside the real ’55 cards.

1955 Topps City Variations: A Hobby case hit (4 per case). These swap the base card background for a cityscape of the player’s home city. Paul Skenes gets the Pittsburgh skyline; Shohei Ohtani gets Los Angeles. These are horizontal-format cards that look sharp.

City Variation Autographs are a Hobby exclusive and numbered to /5 only, making them some of the toughest pulls in the product. SuperFractor 1/1 versions also exist for the most elite collectors.
