Illustration Rare is a type of rarity that was released in the Scarlet and Violet expansion. These illustrations are full-art cards that often depict Pokémon in their natural habitats, allowing for a glimpse into their personalities.

These cards have a collector number above the number of cards within that set, and have become some of the most notable items from the Twilight Masquerade set.

With that being said, let’s look at some of the top Illustration Rare Pokémon cards from Scarlet & Violet – Twilight Masquerade.

The Hisuian Growlithe is considered one of the best rare illustrations. This Pokémon is a regional variant of Growlithe and is both a fire and rock type.

According to Pokémon legend, Hisuian Growlithe has lived separately from humans for a long time and takes a while to warm up to them. This illustration perfectly captures their reunion with humans, as the Hisuian Growlithe is depicted with a big smile and in a posing position. The oversaturated highlights within this photo bring out the essence of the moment, as well as the Pokémon’s cheerful nature.

According to the Ludex app, this card is worth an estimated $15.28.

Perrin (220/167)

Although this is a special rare supporting illustration, Hisuian Growlithe cannot be without Perrin. Perrin is featured as a regular print, ultra-rare print and special illustration rare print in this pack, serving as a photographer who travels with Hisuian Growlithe.

This card shows the same scene of Hisuian Growlithe from a different perspective, with the face of Hisuian Growlithe being reflected within the camera lens. The paired illustrations were created by GIDORA, a remarkable Pokémon card illustrator who has already contributed to 41 cards.

Perrin’s full-art card from the Twilight Masquerade set is worth an estimated $104.94, according to the Ludex app, making it by far the most valuable card on this list.

This full-art illustration is very eye-catching, as it shows multiple Eevees lounging in a home, and it has a nostalgic vibe to it. The Eevees within this illustration seem to be very curious, sleepy and playful.

This illustration is similar to the 2003 EX Sandstorm expansion with its older style of highlights and shadows, creating a light gaze over the image. It is illustrated by Narumi Sato, who has created numerous special rare illustrations. This card is a fan favorite, and it makes anyone want to lie down and relax with those Eevees.

If you’re interested in how much this cute card would cost, according to the Ludex app, it’s worth an estimated $62.80.

This basic evolution Pinsir card is both complex and simple in its design. The bug-type Pokémon is featured sitting in the middle of a field, with other aspects all around the rest of the card.

It features artwork by Yukihiro Tada, a Japanese illustrator and comic designer. Tada also collaborated on a Hoothoot card from the Stellar Miracle expansion pack, which was released not too far after the Twilight Masquerade set. This expansion pack will follow the Night Wanderer set and is expected to be popular due to its playful design reminiscent of comic books.

According to the Ludex app, this Pinsir card is worth an estimated $9.89.

This card shows a scene at the Naranja Academy, the school within Scarlet and Violet. In the picture, Chansey, a normal-type Pokémon with a pouch on its belly containing a white egg known for its nutritional value and high worth, is shown running. This might be due to Chansey’s habit of fleeing with its precious egg.

The image also includes (from left to right) Ditto, Snorlax, Psyduck, Bellsprout and Blissey, which are the Pokémon involved in Chansey’s evolution. These Pokémon make this scene interesting and more engaging. The unique artwork in this full-art illustration was done by Toshinoo Aoki.

The final Illustration Rare card on our list is worth an estimated $18.27, according to the Ludex app.
