Here is it ladies and gentlemen, the most sought-after football release of the year, 2023 Panini Prizm Football !
Every year Prizm is at the top of everyone’s wish list, but this year is special…for many reasons. First and foremost, not all rookie’s have autographs in the product due to different contract agreements, meaning CJ Stroud and Bryce Young amongst others are signed with Fanatics and not Panini. Therefore you will not be able to pull any of their autos in Prizm or any other Panini products (making the National Treasures and Flawless releases a little less exciting as well). The good news is that Prizm has a ton of parallels and different variations that collectors can chase and that is why Prizm is at the top of everyone’s wish list! With all that being said, Prizm introduced new types of inserts and parallels this year and they are part of our Top 5 list! So buckle up and get ready to roll right into the Top 5 Chase Cards in 2023 Panini Prizm Football.
5. Rookie Variations
Now usually rookie variations are valued less than the rookie’s base card, but this year the Rookie Variation is cracking the Top 5 because of the new design it has. The new design truly is a classy good good-looking card, the difference this year is that the majority of the rookie variations include the player posing during a photoshoot, instead of just a different action shot like in the past. Back in the day, it was hard to tell the difference between the variation and the base card, but this year there is a clear difference, making it more collectible.
4. Duo Color Blast
The Color Blast is always a chase card every year in Prizm, but this year it is a little different. There are 2 kinds of Color Blasts in this year’s Prizm and coming in at #4 is the Duo Color Blast, we’ll talk about the other version in a bit…First of all a Color Blast is always a case hit, what is a case hit you ask? Well, there are 12 boxes in a case, which means (on average) there is one of these cards in an entire case, meaning they are rare! What makes this Color Blast even better is that it features two teammates on one card! This means these cards will feature two of the best players from some of your favorite teams. For example, this Duo Color Blast features two of the best rookies in 2023, CJ Stroud and Tank Dell, making this card a must-have for any Houston Texans fan. The Duo Color Blast is making its debut this year and we think it is here to stay.
3. Manga
Another case hit is making an appearance on our list and that is Manga. It’s different from the normal sports cards that we are used to. There is a nostalgic design when it comes to Manga. It brings people back to their childhoods, whether that be comics or cartoons. The nice thing about the Manga insert set is that it features the most popular rookies of this year along with bonafide NFL Stars, so you will not be disappointed no matter who you pull.
2. Vertical Color Blast
Coming in at #2 is truly a banger. This is the first time in Prizm that we are seeing a Vertical Color Blast and let me tell you, they are beautiful. The Hobby seems to cherish vertical cards a little more than they do horizontals (which is usually what Color Blasts are). The fact that Panini decided to turn the Color Blasts vertical this year shows that they are trying to appeal to the Hobby and we appreciate that. With all the big-named rookies and superstars being featured on a Vertical Color Blast you should let out a big “LET” S GOOO” when you pull one.
1. White Knight Prizms
Drumroll please…introducing the White Knight Prizms. For the first time, we are seeing the newest parallel addition to Panini Products, the White Knight Prizm. In 2023 Panini Prizm Football these parallels are numbered /3 making them ultra rare! Other than 1/1, this is the lowest print run in the entire product. Now what is a White Knight Prizm? Well, we are glad you asked. Please see the video below to learn more about why Panini chose the White Knight. Honestly, pulling a White Knight CJ Stroud is arguably the best hit of the product. It is the flagship year for the parallel and it features the most popular rookie of this class. Keep an eye out for these cards, if you are ripping packs and see a card you have never seen before, there is a good chance that it’s /3!
Panini Prizm is one of the most, if not the most, popular sets across all sports. With a great rookie class and new inserts/parallel, this year’s Prizm Football is extra special!
